Organisation on board

Normally, ENCs as well as RNCs will be organised in one system on board. The combination of vector charts and raster charts is called "dual fuel" modus. International agreements allow the use of raster charts where no vector charts are available or the vector charts coverage is not adequate to ensure a safe navigation.The requirements for suitable back-up arrangements must be fulfilled. The risk of different chart datum is to be noticed. The table below shows the organisation of the respective chart systems. The administration of the charts is described in the sub-menus.
